Studio Fashion with 4x5 Film

Here are a couple of shots from a recent studio shoot with the Russian model Maria. I have been shooting a ton of 4x5 for portraits and fashion lately. The color photo is 35mm. I alternate between a few cameras on shoots--digital, 35mm, 4x5, and sometimes with a Hasselblad.
Javier Romero was the make up artist.

Chicago Architecture

Calatrava's unfinished skyscraper on Lake Michigan. (above photo)

I was in Chicago for a business conference and shot a bit of architecture. It was refreshing to shoot a city that I'm not too familiar with, and it had quite a few important buildings with big name architects. One of the businesses that was involved with the conference was Chicago's First Lady boat tours. I toured this business and had an architecture tour on a luxury boat with a guide form the Chicago Architecture Council.

Model shoot with 4x5 Film

I have been shooting a lot more 4x5 film. I'm blown away by the quality of the image and how the 4x5 lenses pick up light. The photos are from a fall fashion accessories shoot. I mixed natural light and ambient light in these photos. It is so much more of a "process" when shooting 4x5 verses the normal digital routine. Hopefully I will incorporate shooting 4x5 more in future shoots that typically will be digitally shot.

I photographed Andy Macdonald skateboarding a halfpipe at the NYC Photo Expo last week. I only shot film and Polaroids!
